september 2014 nature's beauty bag
in the bag was:
happy skincare cloud 9 deep cleansing balm. RRP $34.10
We
recieved a sample pot, it doesn't indicate how much is in there but I
think it may be around 20ml. This is an 84% organic, 100% natural
cleansing balm that claims to 'dissolve the oily impurities in your
skin, moisturise and melt away any grime, black heads, make-up and
sunscreen'. It is a really nice, subtle citrus scent which is excellent
because it is really thick and would be a bit too much if it had a heavy
smell. I have used it a couple of times but am not 100% about what I
think about it yet. I really do enjoy the smell but I'm worried it's
leaving my skin a little oily. I think if it doesn't work out I may end
up using it as a lip balm or night cream instead.
update:
I tried it without using moisturiser afterwards and that seems to have
fixed the 'oily' sensation. I love this stuff. It comes with an offer of
a free anti-aging active jojoba oil RRP. $38.50 when you buy the
cleansing balm and I am seriously considering this. The offer is valid
until the end of November so I have a little while before I have to
decide.

the jojoba company 100% natural australian jojoba & 100% natural ultimate jojoba. RRP $39.95
This
is two different products, a moisturisor and a 'youth potion'. The
moisturiser claims to help with stretch marks, scars, skin conditions,
sunburn, rashes and can be used on face, body, hair, lips and cuticles. I
quite like the smell (faint rose scent) and while we recieved a very small vial, it is oil
so it goes a long way. I think that I'd be able to get a good week out
of it using it on my face.
The
youth potion claims to have smooth fine lines and wrinkles, even skin
tone and moisturise. It smells the same as the other one and we recieved
the same amount of both. I have used the youth potion and have found it
quite moisturising. I'm a bit of a skeptic about 'anti-aging' and 'scar
minimising' products but I do love to use oils for moisturisers so I am
very happy to recieve both these products.

zk'in certified organic skincare honestly effective range. RRP $29.95-59.95
This was a little pouch with four different products in it. There was a softening cream cleanser 2ml, a rejuvenating moisturiser 2ml, a brightening and hydrating masque 3ml and a line smoothing serum
1ml. The cleanser and the moisturiser are fairly self explanatory so I
won't go into them. The line smoothing serum claims to temporarily
freeze muscles. I will not be using this. I'm 31 and not into stuff like
that and doubt that I ever will be. My sister is absolutely into this
sort of thing so I will be giving this to her. The masque claims to
brighten and smooth your complexion. I will need to look into this
further before I put it on my face. Initially I was annoyed at having
recieved sachets but having looked at their website I can see that these
products are quite expensive so I am grateful to have an opportunity to
try them out without paying an arm and a leg, or trading in my child!

from the bean face/body/foot scrub. RRP $16.95- $17.95
I
haven't tried this one yet but I am excited to. I got the foot scrub
and I think I will give it a go after work tomorrow (I work on my feet)
while my daughter is at her grandparents and I have the afternoon to
myself to study. I love the smell of coffee so even if I don't enjoy the
scrub I will certainly enjoy the smell!

plunkett's 99% pure certified organic aloe vera gel. RRP $7.95 - $17.95
I'm
sure you all know what Aloe Vera gel does. I live in Tasmania and the
sun is very harsh down here so this comes at a good time. It is a 20g
tube and doesn't smell. It goes on nice and lightly and doesn't leave
that sticky residue you so often get with gels like this one.
australian bush essence 'love system' intensive hand cream - ylang ylang & sandlewood. RRP $19.95
Again,
we got a 20ml sample of this. The cream seems really nice and hydrating
and seems too absorb really well without feeling too heavy. It has an
incredibly strong scent though. Great if you like the smell but I can't
stand it so I won't be using this one. You can get these at Coles.
organyc panty liners and pads. RRP $6.95 per box
We
recieved one panty liner and one pad. They are 100% organic, have not
been bleached using chlorine bleach and don't contain nasty chemicals.
They are hypo-allergenic which is great because (warning TMI) I am
allergic to most of these sorts of products. I have yet to find
something that doesn't cause me great discomfort. I currently use TOMS
as they too are organic and they seem to minimise the problem. I will
certainly be giving these a go, and they are very reasonably priced.
pukka herbs teas. RRP $7.95
We
recieved two varieties, one bag of 'three cinnamon' and one bag of
'peppermint, licorice and fennel'. I will certainly be trying the
cinnamon one but not the other. I find teas with licorice and fennel
leave a film on my mouth which (again TMI) makes me feel like someone
spat in it! Having said that my husband will probably try this one as he
doesn't seem to have the same issue. It's weird, I know but now that
i've thought it I just can't go there anymore.
From what I have seen of other bags, I think there are two of these teas in each bag, every month.
fino confections strawberry OR citrus flavoured jells. RRP $5.99
We
recieved one jell, mine was strawberry. It was really yummy. It was
really soft without being too sticky and was quite light. I usually find
these sorts of lollies too sweet but the flavour and texture of this
one was quite nice. Again, from what I've seen of other bags there
appears to be a consumable item included in each bag, which is a nice
little touch.
the verdict
I'm
quite happy with this bag. I thought the samples were a bit small at
first but, with the exception of single use items such as tea, jell and
foot scrub, they actually go a really long way so will last a while. I'm
really excited to try all these items and feel that they are quite
different to what the other subscription services are offering. This is a
really interesting bag. I can't wait for the next one!
